Wonderful commentary on art and life! How many times is the wisdom that we need right in front of us? How many times do our students look to the wrong sources and solutions? Beautiful encouragement to do our best to love as Jesus does, and a gracious reminder that it is impossible to truly accomplish that but to keep on trying.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing from artistic filming making point of view to Christianity. Students (even adults some times) often seek in the wrong way for information or not getting the real story until later. Its so clear to christians that there is God but to none believer, they simply dont see what we see.
ReplyDeleteI like your imagination and wish you could make a film of that scene. I think the closest to what you describe would be the film "The Passion of the Christ" . I liked what you mentioned at the end that because Jesus did it all for us, we are free now to try to love as he did and yes be allowed to fall short of his glory. It is because our salvation is in him and not in ourselves.
ReplyDeleteThank you Ian for this video. The meaning of the "Quest" in art is the enlightenment that comes at the end of difficult learning. The story never gets old... I am reminded of the book "Hero with a Thousand Faces" which explains the archetype of the hero and the transformation that comes if we can make the leap to a new perspective. Our life is like the "Quest" and we need to trust Jesus in our journey.
