One of my favorite worship songs is the one that instructs us to love the Lord, our God with all our heart, mind, soul and strength. I would love to have that on repeat in my life so I can redirect every time my focus wavers. Great reminder to keep looking to God.
ReplyDeleteOne of the challenges for me personally is not look with my physical eyes but thru the eyes of faith. The picture shows a man looking upwards towards heaven. I can not but think of the scene when Jesus ascended into heaven and the angel says "Why are you looking up" There have been times when looking up to heaven does focus our attention on God by seeing his endless handiwork. I remember vividly a night in Crested Butte Colorado where my wife and I were star gazing and because there were no street lights we could see literally millions of stars. It was so spectacular that it took our breath away. I can only imagine in ancient times how it must have looked to the men and woman of faith who looked towards the heavens.
ReplyDeleteKeeping our focus on the Lord can be challenging, especially when we are under pressure. The ability to stay in the moment while connected to God is something you have to practice. Perhaps that is what scripture means when it says "pray without ceasing".
