  1. My favorite line from this devotion is..."The way to make room for Him is to expect Him to come, but not in a certain way." This was a great reminder to me to continually strive to let go of the control that I try to have in every situation in my life. I so often forget to let go of my limited human expectation and be ready for the unexpected that of course only God can do. Wow, that is hard to do! I can only, through much prayer, continue to try and move aside so that God can do his amazing and sometimes unexpected work in sometimes that most unexpected ways.

  2. Well, first, I could stare and get lost in that photo for hours. The awesomeness of God's creation and the majesty of the natural world can be overwhelming. As far as the reading, it is perfect for a control freak like me. I need to remind myself to leave room for God in everything I do, especially my lesson plans where I have a chance to mold minds!

  3. God real, God is everywhere. If we allow God to live in us, he is with us all the time that is if we allow him to control our lives. God uses us in the mysterious way. He has his own timing!

  4. I am reminded when Oswald Chambers begins to speak of allowing the element of surprise for the Lord (elbow room) of the may examples in scripture of that very element. I can think of all the ways that God mightily intervenes in peoples lives in totally unexpected ways. Moses at the Burning bush, Gideon hiding in the winepress from the Midianites in Judges 6:11, and Genesis 32:34 when Jacob wrestles with a "man" etc. We must be open for the Lord to inconvenience us and our plans so that his plans may be accomplished.

  5. We want to be in control, be on top of everything, get things done; we forget to include God in all we do. Slowing down a bit and inviting God to participate with us as we go through our lives is a great challenge by Mr. Chambers.
