That proverb as well many other verses in scripture are surely written for my type of personality!!! Right when I think I have honed my "think before you speak" skill, I end up blowing it. The Lord gives me daily, sometimes hourly opportunities to practice which I am grateful for.
ReplyDeleteI am ever in need of this Proverb and Psalm 141. I am also reminded of a Chinese proverb that says we should roll our tongues inside of our mouth 12 times before speaking! I at times regret saying something, even in jest, that comes out wrong. May my words heal rather wound, build up rather than tear down.
ReplyDeleteEspecially for us extroverts, it is nice to be reminded to think before we speak and think about the consequences of our speech.
