Thank you, Adrian, for this great insight! I agree that listening to the quiet, small things reveals God's voice to us. I am finding a great comfort in nature, the small voices and blessings that are still around us in these exhausting, crazy times of upsetting news. You have inspired me to listen harder!
ReplyDeleteI just wrote my comment, but then it just disappeared on me. I will try again. I love the reminder that we need to be still and silent sometimes to hear God speaking to us. I love thinking of how God is with us in all situations. Even when I am enjoying a beautiful sunset or cloud formations, I am often listening to the news. In these days, especially, when the news can bring a sense of hopelessness, it is even more crucial that we be still and know that God is in control.
ReplyDeleteGreat to get to know you a little better through your devotion. Thanks for sharing your wise and encouraging perspective.
ReplyDeleteAdrian, get to have you on the Vallely Christian Schools Conservatory team! Thank you for your thoughts on Elijah. Our culture is so loud, it is nice to be encouraged to be still and listen.
ReplyDeleteIt's so hard to hear God's voice in this loud world. Thank you Adrian for sharing.
ReplyDeleteIn this crazy loud world it is difficult to hear the small voice of the Lord and I find it needs a great deal of discipline to be wiling to unplug all the distractions in ones life to focus on having a quiet time. It seems that as soon as one decides to spend time in prayer than the phone rings as if Lucifer purposely causes this. This is something that speaks to me very strongly. I just hope that my loved ones will not be angry at times like this if I do not return a message or a phone call.
