Biblical Wisdom, what a great topic. How tragic, thank you so much for sharing Scott. Worry is so hard, I do find myself worrying about things. It's always things we can't control. Worry doesn't help with anything at all, it's just something I will do instead of immediately lifting it up to the Lord. God has been reminding me recently that I can't add any benefit to myself by worrying and that I am to lean into Him and let him take care of the scary moments in life. I do love the verse Matthew 6:34 "Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own". It's such a great reminder that we can't control anything that happens tomorrow we aren't even promised tomorrow. Thank you for sharing
ReplyDeleteHah - you and your wife mirror myself and my husband! He is extremely pragmatic, and always likes to make sure we have "planned for the worst". It's a good thing, too, because the two of us make a good match. Thank you for the reminder to be "careful and concerned" but not worried!
ReplyDeleteI love the cartoon that says "Worrying works, everything I worry about never happens!". God's word gives us the perspective to see the big picture. This is something I continually work on.
