Wow. That was very sad about her second mom passing at such a young age. :( I have also had the experience of students dealing with issues that ones so young should never have to deal with and it is really hard when we don't have all the answers to their questions. I wholeheartedly agree with Danielle to not shy away from asking God the questions, reading the bible to find answers, especially for our students that don't identify as Christian. Never stop searching.

ReplyDeleteGod uses those times, happenings, and outcomes to draw us in to Him. Our world view/epistemology can not be defined greater than when we are faced with trials and hardships. The truth that character is revealed when things are rough is so true. I am so thankful that I have had the Lord to turn to, the bible to read, and great Christian brothers and sisters that have consoled me to not just handle it, but turn to God for healing, strength, and trust in his plan.

So beautiful, it's also heartbreaking and really reminds you to never take any moment for granted. Life is so precious and the Lord has blessed us with a life on this earth to serve him. Our students handle a lot on a day to day basis and we need to reminder that they carry a lot. We as teachers need to be there to point them to Christ and be a constant source of joy and love to them. So hard to wrestle with death and why we loose people we love.. It's one of those things I keep putting at the feet of the Lord.
ReplyDeleteYou never know what people are carrying under the surface. So many have heavy burdens that we know nothing about. Let's help each other and "bear on another's burdens"!
