11/28-12/2 Devo Two

This video is the second devotional for the week of November 28 through December 2. This viral video, created by Thai phone company True Move H, opens with a pharmacy owner shouting at a boy who has just been caught stealing medicine for his sick mother. The owner of a nearby café intervenes, pays for the stolen medicine, and gives the boy some vegetable soup to take with him. The story then jumps ahead 30 years, when the café owner collapses, is hospitalized, and remains unconscious as his daughter agonizes over how to pay his $25,000 bill. She falls asleep in her father's hospital room, and when she awakens, she sees a note saying, "All expenses paid 30 years ago with three packs of painkillers and a bag of veggie soup." As luck would have it, the boy whom her father helped 30 years earlier became the doctor who treated him. The video ends with the statement: "Giving is the best communication." What do you think?

11/28-12/2 Devo One

This video is the first devotional for the week of November 14 through November 18. In this video, called "If we could see inside each others' hearts," the focus is on truly caring for others. If we could take a moment, show empathy and feel with others, it could greatly touch those around us. If you could feel what others feel, would you treat them differently? What do you think?

11/14-11/18 Devo Two

This video is the second devotional for the week of November 14 through November 18. We can all sing the words to songs, but is something blocking our hearts from truly entering in to worship? This brief, reflective video will challenge you to think about and adjust your readiness to praise God. Featuring the song "Doxology" from Page CXVI (pagecxvi.com). Video produced by Shift Worship What do you think?

Shift Worship is the company Valley Christian gets most of it's backgrounds, countdowns, and videos from. The newer version of "Doxology" is fresh and reflective. Page CXVI is a project started with the idea of making Hymns accessible and known again (http://pagecxvi.com/). Hymns are some of the richest, most meaningful, and moving pieces of music ever written. The name Page CXVI comes from a reference to page 116 in one copy of The Magician's Nephew by C.S. Lewis. It is a poignant passage where Aslan begins to sing Narnia into creation out of a black void. It starts,
“In the darkness something was happening at last. A voice had begun to sing. It was very far away and Digory found it hard to decide from what direction it was coming. Sometimes it seemed to come from all directions at once. Sometimes he almost thought it was coming out of the earth beneath them. Its lower notes were deep enough to be the voice of the earth herself. There were no words. There was hardly even a tune. But it was, beyond comparison, the most beautiful noise he had ever heard. It was so beautiful he could hardly bear it.” ~ C.S. Lewis
